CAPA ISSUES
Members of the California Alliance for Prescription Affordability (CAPA) are working hard in the Golden State to ensure that patients, families, small businesses, and communities have access to low-cost medications. Our members are walking the halls of the State Capitol and in key legislative districts to ensure policymakers resist drug manufacturers' attempts to hike up high Rx costs and ensure PBMs continue to play a vital role in negotiating access to safe, low-cost medications on behalf of employers and patients.

Defeating SB 966
Senate Bill 966, a Pharma-backed proposal that would have had devastating consequences for millions of Californians, including small businesses and employees, was vetoed by
Governor Newsom.

SB 966 would have driven up the cost of prescription drugs, making it much harder for employers to secure the most cost-effective and safe medications for their employees and
their families.

CAPA thanks our members and partners for engaging on this issue and helping to prevent higher prescription drug costs
for Californians!
